Our Story

Where It Began…

As a wee, little water baby I would trail along beside my mum, sarongs catching in the sea breeze, sand in our toes, sun on our skin… and we would hunt for treasure. My great love for our azure paradise, and all the beauty held within grew from those ramblings over rocks, cliffs, dunes, and rockpools. We would return home in the late afternoon sun, flushed with our success, and then the real education would begin.

Mum could do anything. She could spin magic from almost nothing. She taught us to weave, draw, paint, sculpt. She taught us to see the potential for transformation in the everyday, to free our imaginations. A true Alchemist, with a piece of wood, and a few shells, mum could create whole worlds for us to explore.

This early childhood play blossomed into a real passion for creative expression, and when the time to decide what I wanted to do with my life dawned, I had the answer ready, tucked away in my water baby’s heart: I want to create. This was always my path, and I was fortunate enough to be mentored in this realm by some of Australia’s most accomplished artists during my time at The National Art School in the early 2000s, where I earned my BFA in Sculpture.
